Bouncing Trees is a 2024 performance that happened in the forests of Puerto Montt, Chile. The idea was to experiment with the natural reverbs and delays that occurred inside a small forest. With two big speakers separated by 50 meters, a powerful amplifier and a lithium battery, a sound improvisation was performed using Max/MSP and Serum, experimenting with different rhythms and frequencies, to test the forest’s response to these phenomena.

As a fun fact, the performance lasted long until the night and eventually used 4 speakers. The ones used for Espejos Acústicos. We were in the countryside so the next neighbour was kilometers away. However, the police came at night, looking for our performance, because it was too loud and some neighbours were looking for us with guns. They were scared because the sounds were alien-like in that context.

We considered that a total success.
