This work is about the potency of
water and its profound meanings
and metaphors because: what is
a drop of water if not the reason
for our own existence? What is
this hidden strength that is
contained inside this fluid,
something that goes beyond
chemistry, that made life start as
an ocean to end up as the
organisms we are now? A single
drop of water holds the poetical
information for everything we will
ever be able to be and
comprehend.
In this piece, a drop of water falls
every two minutes onto a small
piece of earth. Next to it there is
a sprouting plant, as a way to
understand the transformations
that water can bring about.
Underneath the earth, there is a
contact microphone, so when the
drop falls and impacts the
ground, it produces the loudest
possible sound through the
amplification of the drop with a
subwoofer and two high wattage
speakers.
El recorrido del agua is an installation where a drop of water falls every two minutes into earth and beside a sprouting seed, producing the loudest possible impact in space through the amplification of the drop with a subwoofer and pickup microphone below the earth.
